SURVIVORS STORIES

Survivors of acid and burn attacks suffer enormous physical and psychological trauma. This is why the face is targeted.  The path to recovery is long, complex and very painful at both a physical and mental level. Thanks to the work of our local partner organisations these survivors have been able to access help. However there are many survivors who still need help. By moving forward with their lives they are defying the intentions of their perpetrators who seek to shame their intended victims, push them into extreme social isolation by disfiguring them. In defying their attackers survivors display incredible strength, courage and dignity.
